Hilton Head Lacrosse
Over the years, Island Sport Tours has played host on Hilton Head Island to more than 100 schools and thousands of players from all over the U.S. and Canada. Once again, we are offering an exceptional lacrosse experience at an exceptional destination.
How do we get there?
Where do we stay?
All teams are housed in Harbour Town in the heart of Sea Pines, recognizable by its signature lighthouse or as the site of the April PGA Heritage of Golf Tournament.
Teams are housed vacation villas of one, two and three and four bedrooms. The Sea Pines resort includes pools, miles of bike trails, and an ocean beach within walking or running distance. The villas all have laundry facilities, full kitchens and wifi. Harbour Town is a beautiful and safe location, ideal for a team trip and a team bonding experience.
What are the dates?
This coming spring we are running sessions from February 28 to April 4. Teams come for varied lengths of time, from three to seven nights stay, with most high schools coming five or six nights, and for colleges four to five nights on average.
What about meals?
We offer an excellent breakfast/dinner meal plan. In addition, the villas are equipped with full kitchens and dining rooms or dining areas should you elect to do your own meals. Local restaurants are plentiful and many will offer team discounts. We also have made arrangements with Piggly Wiggly to have groceries delivered to your villa at a nominal charge so that your villas are stocked with food when you arrive.
Are there any provisions for our training needs?
The camp has trainers on staff, on call and available at regular hours to all participants.
What about officials?
All games are officiated by qualified officials, many with experience at the highest levels of the game.
Is this a tournament?
The week is designed to provide preseason training and while there is ample opportunity to test your players in game situations, we do not hold a tournament or play for a championship. We do facilitate playing official in-season games if you have scheduled them for your stay.
How is the week structured?
We want to know what your practice needs are and will do our best to match those. Typically, teams are slated for a morning and/or an afternoon full field practice slot each day. Every night there are available sessions under the lights. While teams are scheduled for approximately five to six hours of lacrosse daily, we encourage you to take some time off to enjoy your stay on the island.
What else is there to do during the week?
There are miles of broad, sandy beaches. Bike trails cover the island and rentals are very affordable. Tennis court time is complimentary and there are championship golf courses all over the island, including right outside your door in Harbour Town. Other activities include fishing, miniature golf, shopping, kayaking, movie theatres, bowling, water sports and a whole range of other vacation activities.
What is the cost?
Prices range depending upon the length of stay and whether or not a team elects to make use of our meal plan. Sea Pines also offer great packages for parents and boosters. Please call or email us and we will be happy to quote you an exact price based upon your specific circumstances.
Are there team or coach incentives for signing up?
We have a coach's comp policy that is based on the number of players attending from a given team. If you meet our early deposit deadlines you will receive a 5% discount on the per player cost. Returning teams and coaches receive an additional discount based on your length of stay. Call or email us us so that we can quote you an exact price for your team and staff.
What is the timetable for deciding whether or not to attend?
A team deposit of $2000 is due December 15th. The early team deposit of $500 by October 15 and the deposit balance by December 15th will make you eligible for the 5% discount off the per player price, exclusive of meals.
Please feel free to contact us. We are looking forward to spring and lacrosse season!
